WATCH: President Obama stumbles over 'R-E-S-P-E-C-T' for Aretha

Listen to Aretha Franklin on iHeartRadio

President Obama is expressing his respect for Aretha Franklin.  But at Thursday's "Women of Soul" concert taping at the White House, he had a tough time spelling it.

Franklin was one of seven women who took part in the special concert event, which is the latest in the "In Performance at the White House" series.  Other performers included Patti LaBelle, Melissa Etheridge, Janelle Monae, Jill Scott, Ariana Grande, and Tessanne Chin.  The show will air as a concert special on PBS on April 7th.
